JASON BROWN

Jason I. Brown is a professor of mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, and a vice-president of the Canadian Mathematical Society. He has written more than 40 research articles, with an emphasis on mathematical modeling and on connections between various branches of mathematics. He has also published mathematics software and is the co-author of Navigating Calculus (Houghton Mifflin, 2002).  Jason Brown is an accomplished guitarist and songwriter. His mathematical research solved the mystery of how The Beatles played the opening chord of A Hard Day’s Night, and this news was featured in late 2004 in magazines, newspapers, television reports, radio shows and web-sites around the world.
