Jennifer spent her childhood drawing hundreds of pictures
of horses, when she wasn't galloping around the backyard pretending
to be one herself. In school her nose was either in a book or she was
in the art room experimenting with everything from pencils to printmaking.
In 1988 she graduated from Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Communications
Design. She worked in magazine publishing, where her favourite part
of the job was hiring lots of nice illustrators. That's when lightning
struck, and she realized what she was meant to do.
Jennifer has worked for magazines, educational publishers
and various other clients. In 2001 she marked her debut as both author
and illustrator of her first book for children. When I Was Built is
the story of a very old house and the changes it has seen over the years.
