For ten years, Joanne was employed as a children's librarian
at Westmount Public Library in Montreal, Quebec. She currently works
as a reference librarian at the Kingston Frontenac Public Library.
Joanne has published articles, poems, bibliographies
and book reviews in literary and reviewing journals including Queen's
Quarterly, Dalhousie Review, Antigonish
Review, Canadian Children's Literature
and Montreal Review of Books. She holds
a B.A. from the University of Guelph, an M.A. in creative writing from
Concordia University, and an M.L.I.S. (library studies) from McGill
University.
Joanne is also a member of the Society of Children's
Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the Writers' Union of Canada
(TWUC), and the Canadian Society for Children's Authors, Illustrators
and Performers (CANSCAIP).
