MARY LABATT

Mary Labatt is a full-time writer, well known for her highly successful children’s series about Sam, the Dog Detective, as well as other books written for early readers. Mary is a Fellow of the Ontario Teachers’ Federation, elected for her distinguished career achievement in education. During her career as a teacher, Mary earned many such honors, including being selected by her peers for the Ontario Greer Award for her outstanding contribution in the field.

For fourteen years, Mary was the editor of a magazine for Ontario teachers. The Canadian Educational Press Association awarded to Mary the Golden Leaf Award for excellence in educational communications. She has won also Distinguished Achievement Awards from the Educational Press Association of America.
