Holly Luhning grew up on a farm in southern Saskatchewan.
She holds a PhD, specializing in eighteenth-century literature, madness, and theories of the body. Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University and teaches creative writing. Her poetry has appeared in journals, anthologies, and on CBC radio; her critical writing has been published in academic journals. She has received a Saskatchewan Lieutenant-Governor's Arts Award and her collection of poetry, Sway, was nominated for a Saskatchewan Book Award. She has traveled throughout Europe and the South Pacific, and has lived in England, New Zealand, and on the east and west coasts of Canada. Presently, she resides in Montreal.
