Raina Delisle
Agent: Shaun Bradley

From the crime and sports beat to runway fashion shows, Raina Delisle’s writing has appeared on the front pages of newspapers, across magazine spreads, in cyberspace and everywhere in between.

The Ryerson journalism graduate was an arts writer and copy editor at The Ottawa Citizen before returning home to British Columbia. After two years of reporting and editing in every department of Vancouver’s daily The Province, Raina got into television as a writer for Citytv’s Breakfast Television.

Intrigued by the growing number of stories cropping up about marijuana, Raina inhaled deeply and started researching one of B.C.’s biggest industries. In 2007, Raina teamed up with fellow pot culture “chronnoisseur” and former Ottawa Citizen journalist Jessica Wilson to create The Mary Janes. This sexy story — which will unfold over a series of novels — follows the lives of a group of savvy young women who have one of the most dangerous, exciting and illegal jobs in Vancouver: delivering marijuana to the scores of tokers in Canada’s cannabis capital.

Raina and Jessica wrote the first book in The Mary Janes series in their shared apartment in Vancouver, where they broke daily at 4:20. Film and television options for the book are already in the works.

Raina also writes lifestyle pieces for a variety of online and print publications. Her work has appeared in TheBlock, Chatelaine and DailyXY.com among others.
